The Meteoritical Society

The Meteoritical Society is an international organization dedicated to the promotion of research and education in planetary science with emphasis on the studies of meteorites and other extraterrestrial materials that further our understanding of the origin of the solar system. The Society was established in 1933.

Our members, from over 50 nations, span the range of planetary science. We are scientists, amateur scientists and enthusiasts.

Meteoritical Society Meeting

The first Meteoritical Society meeting was held in 1933. The 86th annual meeting of The Meteoritical Society, which will take place from July 28 through August 2nd, 2024, at the Palace of the Academies in Brussels, Belgium. The meeting is hosted by the Université libre de Bruxelles, the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, and the Institute of Natural Sciences.
